Summary:
I read the book Go Ask Alice its author is Anonymous. This book is about a teenage girl that barley turned 15 years old. In the beginning of the book she is like a normal teenager that describes her life as boring. Then her parents tell her that they will have to move. This meant that she was going to have to attend a new school and make new friends. When she first moved there she was always alone but later on she became really good friends with two girls, one of them was Beth, she was Jewish. Unfortunately Beth was going to go away to a Jewish camp. So Alice went to stay at her grandma's house. Later on her grandma had a heart attack. Then Alice went to a party were she experienced drugs for the first time and then later on lost her virginity to a guy, Bill. That's not all thought. Alice went through many other situations as a teenager.
Critique:
I think that this was a really good book. It "puts you in someone else's skin". By this I mean that it puts you in another persons point of view. In this situation it was a 15 year old girl that faced many problems. I believe that by publishing Alice's diary they were trying to let other people see that your actions may have really bad consequences.
Recommendations:
I recommend this book to both teens and parents. That way teenagers can see how being under the influence of drugs can really hurt you. And parents can see how problems they have at home can and may affect there children, and it will allow them to see the world in a teens point of view. I think that both parents and teens will really like this book. I give this book four stars.
