Alice, is the main character in the book Go Ask Alice. She is always talking about her life and drugs. "I simply can't wait to try pot." (Page 36) This makes me believe that this is something that is really important to her in her life.
Alice's thoughts vary. They all depend on how she is feeling. At times she tells herself that she really needs to stop using drugs. She also said "I'll spend the rest of my life helping people who are just like me!" (Page 108) This shows that she actually wants to change the way she is. Meaning stop using drugs and help people that have the same problem, just like her.
Like everyone says what you do hurts you and everyone else around you. Well this is the situation that Alice is in. She is always running away because she feels like her parents don't give her the freedom she needs. This last time that she ran away she found out how worried and how much her parents really cared and loved her.
My character most of the time, like I already mentioned, is always using drugs and running away. Her actions really affect the people that love her. But she does plan on changing her life. That would be by helping others out and changing the way that she is. Like her actions.
"Help me to exercise every morning and night and clean my skin and eat right and be optomistic and agreeable and posotive and cheerful." (Page 10)Alice describes herself as a chubby teenager. She is always saying that she needs to loose some weight. Also that she needs to clean her face out. Just like most teenagers she doesn't like the way she looks.

Entry #1
When I was younger I used to love to read. But like they say as you grow up you change well that's what happened to me. Now I really don't like to read. Well I only read when it has to do something with school, and I have to like the book. As a child it was usually either my mom or sisters the ones that would read to me. One book that I do remember reading had to do with this little girl saving up money to buy her mom a new couch.
The first book I selected for Reader's Workshop is "Go Ask Alice" by an Anonymous author. I picked it because the book is about a teenage girl that was under the influence of drugs and it sounds interesting. In the book I expect them to tell me how her life was, why she chose to go down that road, and was she ever able to stop using drugs.
